Our History
The home was built in 1866 by Danial and Marcia Straight who later sold it to their son, Oscar. Oscar married Mary Peck in that year. They had two sons, Marshall and Ralph. Oscar passed in 1886 of cholera. His 14 year old son passed 4 months later of the same disease.
Today, the building is owned by the Friends of Garden City Historical Museum. It is the home of numerous displays from cooking utensils to tools. Each new display offers a different glance into the past and adds possibly another spirit of the past.
